SUBJECT: CITY OF SUNNYVALE INVESTMENT REPORT 4th QUARTER 1998 (RTC #99-039)

BACKGROUND

SB 564, approved by the State Legislature in late 1995, requires all local agencies to file reports on the status of their investment portfolio with their respective legislative bodies on a quarterly basis.

The Finance Department has routinely been submitting a report on the status of the investment portfolio to the City Manager and the City Council each accounting period. However, in order to fully comply with the provisions of SB 564, staff believes that it is prudent for the report to be listed as a consent calendar item on the City Council Agenda at the end of each quarter. Therefore, the Investment Report is hereby submitted for your information.

RECOMMENDATION

That the City Council receive and file the investment report.
