Attached is the Boards and Commissions Quarterly Attendance Report for the first quarter: July 1, 1999 through September 30, 1999. Every Board and Commission member's attendance record for the last 12 months is shown. Those members with substandard attendance have been highlighted. Substandard attendance is defined as attendance less than 75% of regularly scheduled meetings and/or two consecutive unexcused absences over the past 12 months. Boards and Commissions members attended a total of 411 hours this quarter.

The report has identified the quarters as:

Year-to-date hour totals, beginning fiscal year July 1, are shown on the far right column. Readers should note that meeting lengths vary from 0.5 to 4.0 hours.

When substandard attendance problems are identified, the Mayor may send letters on behalf of Council to note the attendance problem and ask for improved attendance (Council Policy 7.2.9). The letters may also advise the Board or Commission member of the Charter and Council policies on consecutive unexcused absences; three consecutive absences will result in member’s automatic removal from the Board or Commission.

Please note that Housing and Human Services Commissioner Cheryl Bartholomew verbally informed staff of her resignation during the last week of August, however, she has not submitted a formal letter of resignation.
