SUBJECT: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
REPORT IN BRIEF
Existing Council Resolution 157-98 authorizes certain individuals to execute documents for obtaining financial assistance under the federal Civil Defense Act, the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988 (PL100-707), and the Natural Disaster Assistance Act (NDAA). This resolution will rescind Resolution 134-95 and designate the correct individuals.
BACKGROUND
In order to apply for financial assistance following a disaster, certain individuals must be designated to execute documents for the City. The positions of City Manager, Director of Finance, Director of Public Safety, Captain, Public Safety, and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator are the names authorized to file for financial assistance with the State Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Emergency Preparedness Unit is the work group responsible for preparing financial assistance forms.
DISCUSSION
This resolution updates the signature resolution and designates the correct individuals to execute documents in order to apply for assistance following a disaster.
