SUBJECT: Pre-Appeal of the Planning Commission Agenda of May 8, 2000 and the Administrative Hearing Agenda of May 10, 2000

A. Pre-Appeal of the Planning Commission Agenda of May 8, 2000

2000-0043 – Appeal of a decision by the Director of Community Development denying the Variance request from Sunnyvale Municipal Code Sections 19.32.020 to exceed 40% lot coverage and 19.48.050 to exceed 25% rear yard coverage. The property is located on 268 W. California Avenue in an R-2 (Low-Medium Density Residential) Zoning District. (APN: 204-51-003)

2000-0138 – John Matthams International Design Group (Kenneth J. Virnig): Application for a Special Development Permit to allow construction of a 5,708 square-foot two-story office building. The property is located at 1560 Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road in an R-2/PD (Low-Medium Density/Planned Development) Zoning District. (APN: 309-40-048) (Negative Declaration)

2000-0171 – Bruce Ostrawder: Application for a Use Permit to allow construction of a 787 square-foot detached garage. The property is located at 810 Parnell Place in an R-0 (Low-Density Residential) Zoning District. (APN: 316-04-069)

2000-0170 – Myra Ho: A Special Development Permit to allow construction of a new 700 square-foot accessory living unit above a detached garage. The property is located at 414 S. Murphy Avenue in a DSP-10 (Downtown Specific Plan Combining District Block 10) Zoning District. (APN: 209-26-022)

RECOMMENDATION

The Council should review the agenda and appeal an application where appropriate.
