PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
There were no announcements from the public.
Vice Mayor Walker made announcements on behalf of the City Council. First, he announced that the City of Sunnyvale has received an award from the Municipal Treasurers’ Association of the United States and Canada. The award is in acknowledgement of the certification by the Municipal Treasurers’ Association of the City’s 1999-2000 written investment policy. The City is one of only 250 governments in the United States and Canada to have its investment policy certified by the Association since the Investment Policy Certification Program was developed in 1990. A written investment policy is only certified when it has met all criteria set forth in the Program. He congratulated Director of Finance, Mary Bradley, Finance Manager Therese Balbo, and their staff for their hard work and commitment to quality. He also announced that the Mayor has proclaimed October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and October 22 as National Mammography Day in the City of Sunnyvale. He further stated that to increase accessibility and respond to questions related to downtown redevelopment, the Community Development Department has opened a downtown office at 100 South Murphy Avenue in the Del Monte building. The office is open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
