Acceptance of Improvements — Chlorine Contact Channel Coatings, PR-97-05 |

RECOMMENDATION |
|

That the City Council, by resolution, accept the project as complete and satisfactory. |

DISCUSSION |
|
|
The Contractor, Hansen Painting & Decorating, Inc., has satisfactorily completed the Chlorine Contact Channel Coatings project within the allocated budget and for the final contract amount of $172,896.75. The work included three coatings of a protective chemical formulation on Channel No. 1 of the chlorine contact tanks at the Water Pollution Control Plant. The work was done to prevent further degradation of the concrete and underlying reinforcement steel of the chlorine contact tanks caused by the chlorinated effluent from the plant. The project was inspected by the Public Works Project Administration Section and found to be satisfactory. Acceptance is, therefore, recommended. |
