Amendment to the Classification Plan and Salary Resolution: Housing Programs Analyst

REPORT IN BRIEF

This report recommends the creation of a new classification of Housing Programs Analyst in the Housing Division of the Community Development Department. This classification will replace the current classification of Housing Loan Specialist.

BACKGROUND

This is a single position class in the Department of Community Development, Housing Division. This classification was created as a result of a reclassification study requested by the incumbent employee in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the SEA Memorandum of Understanding

DISCUSSION

The reclassification study determined that the incumbent had been performing job duties that exceed the scope of duties called for in her current job description. It was also determined that that no existing City job specification described the scope of the essential functions of the position and the required education, knowledges, skills, and abilities required to perform these functions effectively.

FISCAL IMPACT

The wage-based fiscal impact for this position is $3,078.40 annually. The cost of implementing this change will be absorbed in the current budget and will be included in the base budget for next fiscal year.

ALTERNATIVES

1. Amend the Classification Plan and Salary Resolution as proposed to implement the creation of this new classification and the corresponding salary adjustment.
2. Not amend the Classification Plan and Salary Resolution as proposed, thereby failing to implement the proposed classification and salary adjustment.
