BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS - QUARTERLY ATTENDANCE - INFORMATION ONLY

REPORT IN BRIEF

Attached are the Boards and Commissions Quarterly Attendance Reports for the fiscal year; July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. Those members with substandard attendance have been highlighted. Substandard attendance is defined as attendance less than 75% of regularly scheduled meetings and/or two consecutive unexcused absences over the past twelve months. Board and Commission members attended a total of 222.5 hours during this period.

BACKGROUND

Year-to-date hour totals are shown on the far right column.

EXISTING POLICY

When substandard attendance problems are identified, the Mayor may send letters on behalf of the Council to note the attendance problem and ask for improved attendance (Council Policy 7.2.9). The letter may also advise the Board or Commission member of the Charter and Council policies on consecutive unexcused absences; three consecutive absences will result in member's automatic removal from the Board or Commission.
