| SUBJECT: | AMENDMENT TO THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY RESOLUTION: Part–time Business Liaison |
REPORT IN BRIEF
This report recommends amending the Classification Plan and Salary Resolution to include the newly developed classification of regular part-time Business Liaison.
DISCUSSION
The Classification for a regular full-time Business Liaison was adopted by the City Council on June 4, 2002. This request is to create a comparable regular part-time classification that will help perform work on the various new programs/services offered by NOVA to address the changing needs of job seekers and businesses. Creating this position will enable NOVA to have the necessary resources to have direct supervisory responsibility and oversight for the work that is required through the various contracts and grants.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this position will come from the grants and contracts received by the City of Sunnyvale to operate the NOVA program. Additional personal costs will be offset by the reduction in fees currently being paid to contract agencies, redistribution of grant and contract funding, and an increased efficiency in program operations.
