| SUBJECT: | AMENDMENT TO THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY RESOLUTION: GRAPHIC ARTIST (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME) |
REPORT IN BRIEF
This report recommends amending the Classification Plan and Salary Resolution to include the newly developed classification of regular full-time and part-time Graphic Artist.
DISCUSSION
This request is to create a regular full-time and part-time Graphic Artist classification that will perform marketing and graphic design work for the various programs/services offered by NOVA. Creating this position will enable NOVA to have the necessary resources and expertise to develop and implement marketing ideas, reports and media products which are directed to and meet the expectations of the business community. This position will also provide expertise for the creation of in-house marketing tools, design standards and materials required to support various programs.
The salary recommendation for the position was developed based on internal comparisons of existing classifications of similar functional roles and qualifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this position will come from the grants and contracts received by the City of Sunnyvale to operate the NOVA program. Additional personnel costs will be offset by the reduction in fees currently being paid to contract agencies, redistribution of grant and contract funding, and an increased efficiency in program operations.
