Update of the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice and Amend the Consolidated Plan 2000-2005

executive summary

This report was re-scheduled for City Council approval from January 7, 2003 to January 28, 2003. It is necessary to extend the public hearing until February 4, 2003 for final revisions to be made to update the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) and to receive the final draft of the County Fair Housing Study. The AI is a comprehensive study that has identified factors present in the community that may prevent people from living where they would choose. It also serves as a planning tool to address the problems and recommend programs and funding to eliminate impediments to Fair Housing Choice.

Public contact was made through the posting of the Council agenda on the City’s Official Bulletin Board, posting of the agenda and the report on the City’s web site, and the availability of the report in the Library and the City Clerk’s Office.

Continue this item to the City Council hearing of February 4, 2003.
