| SUBJECT: | BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS FOR 2002 - PHASE II EXTENDED FALL RECRUITMENT |
REPORT IN BRIEF
On February 3, 2002 Council interviewed six applicants for 4 vacancies on City Boards and Commissions. Staff recommends Council make its appointments from the applicants listed below.
BACKGROUND
At the Council meeting of December 17, 2002, Council appointed seven new members to fill vacancies on the City’s Boards and Commissions. Since not all vacancies were filled, staff requested, and Council approved, an extended recruitment.
Staff conducted an extended recruitment from December 18, 2002 through January 24, 2003. Staff's outreach efforts included participation in the Saturday Farmers Market on Murphy Street, advertisements in The Sun, posting flyers, announcements on KSUN, and an announcement was made at each Council meeting during the recruitment period.
Approximately 25 applications were distributed to prospective candidates and 6 applications were submitted.
Staff has verified that all of the following individuals meet the residency and voter registration requirements, as applicable.
