City Council Chambers
The Arts Commission adjourned from 6:15 p.m. Study Session – Art In Private Development Ordinance – held in the West Conference Room and met in regular session in the City Council Chambers, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA, at 7 p.m. with Chair Draganowski Davis presiding.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. A. Approval of Draft Minutes (Regular Meeting of February 16, 2005)

Commissioner Obey moved, Commissioner Buchs seconded, to approve the February 16, 2005, Arts Commission minutes.
Motion carried unanimously 4-0 with Carney absent |
Chair Draganowski Davis opened the Public Hearing. There were no comments and the Public Hearing was closed.
NON-AGENDA ITEMS AND COMMENTS
Vice Chair Harper recommended an art exhibit at SF MOMA.
Commissioner Obrey attended a photo exhibit.

Commissioner Obrey moved, Vice Chair Harper seconded, to agendize a Study Session at the next Arts Commission meeting inviting business interests and insurance experts to discuss and gain information on their perspective on Art In Private Development in Sunnyvale. |
Ms. Steward asked for clarification of the motion. After discussion, Commissioner Obrey withdrew his motion and made a new motion.

Commissioner Obrey moved, Vice Chair Harper seconded, to schedule a Study Session before the next Arts Commission meeting to present suggestions for questions and invitees for a future informational meeting with business interests and insurance experts to discuss and gain information on their perspective on Art In Private Development in Sunnyvale.

Chair Draganowski Davis noted that the purpose of the informational meeting is to open lines of communication. She urged Commissioners to read the news article distributed in their packet titled “Businesses balk at required art.” She also asked Commissioners to prepare questions and list of names in the business community that they would like to invite to the future informational meeting and bring this information to the next Study Session.
Ms. Steward said the Art in Private Development Ordinance Report to Council went before Council on October 19, 2004, and a copy of the videotape could be checked out from Parks & Recreation Administration. Interim Director Black said Council meeting tapes were also available for check out from the library.
Ms. Steward clarified the Attendance Policy and stated attendance is reported on all public meetings, including study sessions, workshops and educational trainings. This information is different than provided previously.
Commissioners welcomed Interim Director Black and wished him well.
