SUNNYVALE Child Care Advisory Board
The Child Care Advisory Board met on July 1, 2004 in the West Conference Room, 456 W. Olive Avenue, at 1:05 p.m. with Kristen Nigriny, Child Care Manager presiding.

BOARD MEMBER Shea motioned to excuse BOARD MEMBER Ozdemir’s absence since she is on vacation. BOARD MEMBER Jevons seconded the motion.

BOARD MEMBER Gutierrez motioned to accept the 4/18/04 Regular CCAB Meeting minutes. BOARD MEMBER Jevons seconded the motion.

BOARD MEMBER Jevons motioned to accept the 5/04/04 Special Meeting minutes. BOARD MEMBER Gutierrez seconded the motion.

BOARD MEMBER Gutierrez motioned to nominate BOARD MEMBER Jevons as Chair of the Child Care Advisory Board. BOARD MEMBER Carmack seconded the motion.

BOARD MEMBER Jevons motioned to nominate BOARD MEMBER Gutierrez as Vice-Chair of the Child Care Advisory Board. BOARD MEMBER Sells seconded the motion.

PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
Coryn Campbell, Neighborhood and Community Services Manager welcomed the new BOARD MEMBERS to their first meeting.
Kristen Nigriny, Child Care Manager gave a Quarterly Update.
Code of Ethics Review and Signing
Continued the discussion of 2004 CCAB Study Issue. The Board brainstormed on an Early Childhood Education Campaign with an emphasis on Universal Preschool. Kristen Nigriny will create a draft for the Board to review and discuss further in the October meeting.
Kristen Nigriny provided a status of the 2003 CCAB One-Stop Resource Center Issue.
BOARD MEMBER Gutierrez excused herself at 2 p.m.

STAFF ORAL COMMENTS - Board Members will decide in October who will represent the Child Care Advisory Board at the December 21, 2004 Council Meeting regarding the 2004 Study Issue.
