NON-AGENDA ITEMS AND COMMENTS

·         BOARD MEMBER MANIJEH inquired if there was support in accreditation for family child care providers.  This prompted a discussion of a previous program offered, The Gold Seal Award Pilot Program, which did not receive a favorable response as hoped mainly due to time commitment constraints of the providers.  Staff will provide additional information at the October meeting.

·         Linda Kim provided an update on the recruitment status for the Temporary Youth, Family & Child Care Resources Coordinator position.  The recruitment is currently open.  CCAB members were given a job description and were encouraged to pass it along to colleagues.  CCAB will be notified when the interview phase will begin.  Members, beginning with the Chair and Vice-Chair, will be notified to see if they are available to be a part of the interview panel.  Currently, Linda will be managing Child Care Resources as part of the Youth and Family Resources unit.

·         Coryn Campbell provided information on CitySkills, a basic training program offered through a partnership between the City of Sunnyvale and Silicon Valley Leadership (SVL) that teaches how to effectively work with government to address issues.  CCAB members were given a CitySkills brochure.
