The Child Care Advisory Board met on December 14, 2004 in the West Conference Room, 456 W. Olive Avenue, at 11:35 a.m. with Carole Jevons, Chair, presiding.

ROLL CALL

Board Present: Emily Gutierrez, Carole Jevons, Hilal Ozdemir, Jacqueline Sell

Board Member Absent: Angela Carmack, excused Maxine Shea, excused

Staff: Kristen Nigriny, Child Care Manager; Claire Garcia, Sr. Office Assistant, Peter Bassett, Management Analyst

PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS

BOARD MEMBER JEVONS motioned to excuse BOARD MEMBER Carmack’s absence due to her being on disability. BOARD MEMBER SELL seconded the motion.

MOTION CARRIED

BOARD MEMBER JEVONS motioned to excuse BOARD MEMBER Shea’s absence due to a work schedule conflict. BOARD MEMBER SELL seconded the motion.

                   MOTION CARRIED

BOARD MEMBER SELL motioned to support Feasibility of Developing a Business/Child Care Partnership Program (“Study Issue”) as written. BOARD MEMBER OZDEMIR seconded the motion.

                   MOTION CARRIED

BOARD MEMBER JEVONS motioned to recommend AGAINST studying Identify current levels of utilization and awareness of existing City services by Sunnyvale child care providers. BOARD MEMBER OZDEMIR seconded the motion.

                   MOTION CARRIED
