The Parks and Recreation Commission met in regular session in City Council Chambers, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA at 7 p.m. with Chair Arnett presiding.

Chair Arnett led the salute to the flag.

Commissioner Lawson moved, Commissioner Manfrey seconded to excuse Vice Chair Pole’s absence.

Motion carried unanimously 3-0

Farewell tribute to Commissioner Manfrey was deferred to the end of the meeting.

1.A. Approval of Draft Minutes (Regular Meeting of May 26, 2004)

Commissioner Manfrey moved, Commissioner Lawson seconded to approve the May 26, 2004, Parks and Recreation Commission minutes.

Motion carried unanimously 3-0

Chair Arnett opened the meeting for Public Appearances. There were none and the Public Appearances were closed.

NON-AGENDA ITEMS AND COMMENTS

 

BOARDMEMBERS OR COMMISSIONERS ORAL COMMENTS  

In response to Commissioner Lawson, staff clarified that the Plaza Opening would be held from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and the Swirsky Youth Opportunity Joint Study Session would be held from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. on July 7.

 

Commissioner Manfrey said good-bye and thanked staff for their assistance while he was a member of the Commission and wished the new Commissioners the best of luck.

 

Chair Arnett thanked Commissioner Manfrey for his years of service on the Commission and said he appreciated Commissioner Manfrey’s commitment and humor.

 

Chair Arnett requested that the exploration of re-opening the Creative Arts Center Gallery be agendized for a future meeting.

 

Commissioners stated their availability for the July 4 State of the City and July 7 Sunnyvale Plaza Grand Opening.
