APPROVED MINUTES

SUNNYVALE PERSONNEL BOARD

The Personnel Board met in regular session in Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Avenue.  The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. with Werner Gans presiding.

ROLL CALL

Present:          Branden Fryer, Werner Gans, Glenn Hendricks, Judith Nickey, Stephanie Saprai

Staff:              Erwin Young, Director of Human Resources

Mindy Vargas, Recording Secretary

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS

None.

CONSENT CALENDAR

1.      a)   Nickey moved the minutes of the September 17, 2007 meeting be approved as submitted.  Seconded by Saprai and unanimously carried.

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD

None

GENERAL BUSINESS

2.         New Commissioners Branden Fryer and Glenn Hendricks were introduced.

3.         New Business

            a)         Nickey nominated Saprai as Personnel Board Chair. Hendricks seconded and nomination was unanimously approved.

            Saprai nominated Nicky as Vice Chair.  Gans seconded and nomination was unanimously approved.

4.         After a general discussion, Gans moved Consideration of Policy to Require All City Employees Funded by Grants to be Designated as Temporary/Contractual move forward as a study issue.  Hendricks seconded and unanimously approved.
