MINUTES
SUNNYVALE PERSONNEL BOARD 

The Personnel Board met in regular session in Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Avenue.  The meeting was called to order at 5:06 P.M. with Karen Bushman presiding.

ROLL CALL

Present:        Frank Agabah, Karen Bushman, Werner Gans,

Marc Ketzel, Ericka Reguerin

Staff:           Jane Fleenor, Interim Director of Human Resources

Mindy Vargas, Recording Secretary

SCHEDULED PRESENTATION

Marc Hynes from Atkinson Farasyn did not show up for his scheduled presentation on The Brown Act.  Mr. Hynes will be asked to reschedule for the April 18, 2005 meeting.         

CONSENT CALENDAR

1.  Werner Gans moved the minutes of the February 7, 2005 meeting be approved as submitted.  Seconded by Marc Ketzel and unanimously carried.

GENERAL BUSINESS

a) Consideration of Employee Suggestions:

Bushman moved no award for suggestion #04-12, A Change in Operations at Orchard Heritage Park.

The Personnel Board would like to see this suggestion submitted for consideration when the contract between the City and orchardist is renegotiated.  Seconded by Gans and unanimously approved.  Suggestor: Steven Wolford, Department of Parks and Recreation.

Reguerin moved no award for suggestion #05-15, Computer Program Which Allows Employees to Input Work Hours, Calculate Retirement Earnings and View Time Accruals.  Seconded by Gans and unanimously approved.  Suggestor: Denee Evans, Community Development Department.

NON-AGENDA ITEMS AND COMMENTS

Chairperson Bushman received a letter from Mayor Chu requesting participation on a short-term task force to plan a City-wide community building workshop on June 18, 2005.  She asked for a volunteer from the Personnel Board to participate.  Ericka Reguerin said she would like to participate on the task force.
