MINUTES

2004-0195 – Sandra Steele [Applicant] Lockaway Storage [Owner] - Application for a Use Permit on a 1.18 acre site to allow a new telecommunications antenna mounted on the rooftop.  The project is located at 220 West Ahwanee Avenue in an M-S (Industrial & Service) Zoning District (APN:  204-03-043)

 

In attendance: Sandra Steele, Applicant; Gerri Caruso, Administrative Hearing Officer; Steve Lynch, Project Planner; and, Gloria Barron, Recording Secretary. 

 

Ms. Gerri Caruso, Administrative Hearing Officer, on behalf of the Director of Community Development, explained the format that would be observed during the public hearing.

 

Ms. Caruso announced the subject application.

 

Steve Lynch, Project Planner, presented the staff report.  He summarized the subject application and noted that a Condition of Approval to increase the landscape around the equipment area was added.  Staff recommended approval of the Use Permit subject to the Conditions of Approval recommended by staff. 

 

Ms. Caruso confirmed with staff that the landscaping surrounding the site was adequate and that the additional landscape around the equipment would be used for screening.  Staff agreed.   

 

Ms. Caruso opened the public hearing.

 

Sandra Steele, Applicant, received and reviewed a copy of the staff report.  She stated that she agreed with all the Conditions of Approval.  Ms. Caruso stated that she visited the site and agreed that the revised location of the unit was an improvement.  Ms. Steele stated that she was happy with the outcome of the project and noted that it meets all the required codes and FCC requirements.

 

Ms. Caruso closed the public hearing.

 

Ms. Caruso approved the Use Permit with the Findings provided by staff and with the Conditions of Approval recommended by staff. 

 

Ms. Caruso stated that the decision is final unless appealed during the 15-day appeal period.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 2:04 p.m.
