PLANNING COMMISSION DRAFT MINUTES OF 11/22/04

 

2002-0070 – City of Sunnyvale Study Issue – In-Lieu Fee For The Undergrounding of Utilities: This study evaluates and asks for direction on a series of alternatives intended to enhance the implementation of the undergrounding of overhead utilities throughout the City.  Alternatives will include consideration of an in-lieu fee, deferral agreements, development fees and the creation of assessment districts.  (Negative Declaration) FB

 

Trudi Ryan, Planning Officer, reported that the study issue has become larger and complications of undergrounding utilities in the City has become prominent.  She stated that more research is needed to complete the study. Therefore, staff requested a continuance to January 10, 2005. She availed herself and Andy Miner, the Project Planner, for Commission’s questions.

 

Comm. Simons submitted some questions to staff related to the study.

 

Vice Chair Hungerford asked staff to clarify how the continuance would affect City Council schedule in considering the study issue.  Ms. Ryan responded that staff will request the corresponding continuance from the City Council and that the re-scheduled meeting would be after the Planning Commission review of the study.

 

Comm. Sulser made a motion on Item #2002-0070 to continue to 01/10/05.  Comm. Simons seconded.

 

Motion carried unanimously 7-0.
