A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE ESTABLISHING THE CONTROL POINT FOR THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the City Council has established a compensation plan for management employees which establishes Control Points for each management job classification and requires that individual salaries be set with reference to those Control Points based upon an evaluation of the employee's performance, which program is commonly referred to as a "Pay for Performance" system; and
WHEREAS, normally the City Council establishes the City Attorney’s compensation in conformance with the City’s “Pay for Performance” system and the procedures adopted by the City Council (RTC 95-380); however, due to extenuating budgetary circumstances in 2002-2003, this did not occur and the adjustment was capped at 6% and due to the continuance of those circumstances this year it is again agreed those procedures will be modified to cap the adjustment at 3%;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE THAT the Control Point for the position of City Attorney is hereby established as $170,059 effective June 22, 2003. The provisions of this section shall supersede the salary provisions contained in Resolution No. 191-02. This Control Point shall remain in effect for fiscal year 2003-04, and for such period of time following the fiscal year until a subsequent salary resolution for the City Attorney is adopted.
