Chair Walker explained the interview procedure for benefit of the interviewees and employees. He stated the Committee will take questions of clarity but not public comment.
Committee Member Fowler moved, and Committee Member Valerio seconded approval of the draft minutes. The motion carried unanimously.
For the record, Committee Chair Walker distributed, and made available for the public, copies of an email between Mayor Miller and Councilmember Walker.
The following individuals made appearances and responded to questions posed by Committee Members:
Lieutenant Shawn Ahearn – gave testimony from 8:05 a.m. to 9:18 a.m.
Committee Chair called a recess at 9:19 a.m. and reconvened at 9:25 a.m.
Lieutenant Glenn Fortin – gave testimony from 9:25 a.m. to 9:48 a.m.
Captain Tim Carlyle – gave testimony from 9:49 a.m. to 10:21 a.m.
Chief Ernie Bakin – gave testimony from 10:30 a.m. to 11:12 a.m.
Chair Walker called a recess at 11:12 a.m. and reconvened at 11:17 a.m.
Vice Mayor Tim Risch – gave testimony from 11:18 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Vice Mayor Risch provided the Committee with his written response to the “Facts to be Found” along with attachments of “Definition of Agent” and examples of emails from Councilmembers to the City Manager making inquiries. He also provided a copy of a letter from Beth Morrisay related to the events of September 1, 2003.
Committee Chair Walker adjourned the meeting at 12:10 p.m.
