A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPLICATIONS WITH THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT FOR GRANT FUNDING FROM THE TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR CLEAN AIR FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS AND CERTIFYING THE AVAILABILITY OF MATCHING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Sunnyvale is a supporter of clean air and wishes to take action to enhance air quality within the San Francisco Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunnyvale intends to submit various funding applications (as shown in Attachment 1) to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District for the Transportation Fund for Clean Air Regional Funds (60%) for the purpose of improving air quality; and
WHEREAS, under the Transportation Fund for Clean Air Regional Funds guidelines, the City of Sunnyvale is required to provide matching funds for at least 20% of the total project cost for projects requesting more than $100,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE THAT:
1. The City Manager is authorized to submit such applications for the City of Sunnyvale.
2. The City Council certifies that matching funds up to $36,000 (20%) for the Radar Speed Signs for School Areas Project and up to $32,640 (20%) for the In-Pavement Crosswalk Warning Lights project shall be made available.
3. The City Manager is authorized to execute a funding agreement with the Transportation Fund for Clean Air if the applications are approved for funding.
