SPECIAL MEETING (CLOSED SESSION)
SUNNYVALE CITY COUNCIL
Wednesday, October 6, 2004
      4:30 p.m., West Conference Room, City Hall
456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 

The special meeting was called to order at 4:50 p.m. in the West Conference Room at 456 W. Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California with Mayor Howe presiding.

The City Clerk called the roll. Council Members Lee, Hamilton, Swegles, Miller, Vice Mayor Chu and Mayor Howe were present. Council Member Fowler was absent.

Staff present: Amy Chan, City Manager, Susan Ramos, City Clerk. After the closed session, Assistant City Attorney Joan Borger and Communications Officer John Pilger joined the meeting.

Mayor Howe opened the floor for public comments. There being no public comments received, closed the public comments portion of the meeting.

Mayor Howe adjourned the special meeting to Closed Session in the Council Conference Room at City Hall, regarding Public Employee Appointment – Interim City Attorney, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957. 

The Council reconvened the special meeting in the West Conference Room at 5:50 p.m.  Mayor Howe reported that the Council, by unanimous vote with Council Member Fowler absent, approved the appointment of Interim City Attorney Joan Borger, effective upon the resignation of City Attorney Valerie Armento.

Mayor Howe adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m.
