SUBJECT: 2005 Boards and Commissions Work Plans
REPORT IN BRIEF
As required by the Legislative Management Sub-Element of the General Plan, the City’s Boards and Commissions have developed their Work Plans to reflect Council’s priorities as adopted in the 2005 Council Agenda Calendar.
BACKGROUND
These work plans are submitted annually as a Consent Calendar item for Council approval and for Board and Commission implementation.
EXISTING POLICY
General Plan – Legislative Sub-Element. Action statement
7.3A2d Adopt an annual work plan for Boards and Commissions consistent with Council priorities.
DISCUSSION
The Boards and Commission have developed the attached Work Plans which highlight regularly scheduled Boards and Commissions meetings, review of the Code of Ethics, specific issues identified in the Council Agenda Calendars, and any routine assignments specific to a particular Board or Commission. Note that the Board of Building Code Appeals only meets on an as-needed basis, and as such does not adopt an annual Work Plan.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact as a result of approving the Work Plans.
Conclusion
That the Council review the Work Plans for each Board and Commission and give their approval or recommend modifications.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Each Work Plan was reviewed and approved by the appropriate Board or Commission at a public hearing. Standard public contact was made through posting of the Council agenda on the City’s official notice bulletin board, posting of the agenda and report on the City’s web page, and the availability of the report in the Library and City Clerk’s Office.
ALTERNATIVES
- Approve the Boards and Commissions Work Plan.
