The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Sunnyvale met in the City Council Chambers, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California at 10:08 p.m., with Agency Chair Chu presiding.

Agency Vice-Chair Swegles moved and Agency Member Howe seconded to approve the Minutes as amended. Motion carried unanimously with Agency Member Lee absent. |
CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
|
Dave Whittum, member of the public, representative for Heritage District Neighborhood Association, spoke regarding Health & Safety Code Section 33333.10, regarding notification process to agencies and associations within the Redevelopment district. Mr. Whittum noted he would appreciate notification of the hearing and learning more about the limit on tax increment collection. |

Authorization to Initiate an Amendment to the Sunnyvale Redevelopment Plan for the Central Core Redevelopment Project Area to Increase the Limit on Tax Increment Collection for the Plan

Agency Member Hamilton recused herself from participating in the matter due to a potential conflict of interest because she lives within the Agency District boundaries.
Brice McQueen, Redevelopment Manager, presented the staff report.
Mayor Chu opened the public hearing at 10:23 p.m. There being no public comments, the public hearing was closed at 10:24 p.m.
Agency Vice-Chair Swegles moved and Agency Member Howe seconded to approve staff’s recommendation, Alternative #1 - The benefit of this amendment is to enable an increase in the tax increment limit and thereby increase the Redevelopment Agency’s ability to repay existing bonded indebtedness, undertake necessary public improvement projects, alleviate remaining blighted conditions and promote economic development in the Sunnyvale Central Core Redevelopment Project Area. In addition, the amendment will meet the commitment of the Redevelopment Agency in the DDOPA, providing sufficient tax increment to make redevelopment of the Town Center Mall feasible, as stated in the Resolution. Motion carried with Agency Member Hamilton abstaining and Agency Member Lee absent. |
