SUBJECT:      CITY MANAGER SALARY: ADJUSTMENT TO CONTROL POINT

REPORT IN BRIEF

Attached is the resolution prepared by the City Attorney’s Office implementing the new Control Point for the City Manager for Fiscal Year 2005/2006 in accordance with procedures adopted by Council on October 17, 1995, detailed in Report to Council #95-380.  This process outlines the completion of a comprehensive market survey of City Manager salaries in California cities.

The new Control Point for the City Manager is set at $212,574, and is effective June 19, 2005.  It should be noted that the City Manager’s control point has not changed since Fiscal Year 03/04 as the City Manager requested an increase not be implemented in Fiscal Year 04/05 due to budgetary constraints.
