SUBJECT: Intergovernmental Assignment to the Peninsula Policy Partnership Grand Boulevard Task Force
REPORT IN BRIEF
The Peninsula Policy Partnership has established the Grand Boulevard Task Force (Attachment A) to raise El Camino Real from its current status to that of a world-class boulevard. The Grand Boulevard Task Force is being created to provide policy oversight in an effort to develop a unified vision for El Camino Real. The Peninsula Policy Partnership has asked the City to appoint a member of the City Council to represent the City of Sunnyvale. Time commitment for this assignment will be determined by The Grand Boulevard Task Force at the first initial meeting on Friday, March 3, 2006. The agency anticipates meeting length and frequency to be either on a quarterly or semi-annual basis for two hour sessions.
Staff recommends Council appoint a Councilmember to serve on the Peninsula Policy Partnership Grand Boulevard Task Force.
