Study Issue:  Places of Assembly located within Industrial and Commercial Zones

 

Staff Recommendation: Council approves modifications to the Sunnyvale Municipal Code to adopt a specific policy on locating these uses, to initiate rezoning specific properties to a POA Combining District and to rezone existing Community Serving Places of Assembly in residential areas to the Public Facility (PF) Zoning District.

Appeal of a decision of the Planning Commission to deny a Variance to allow an accessory utility building with a 2.5-foot side-yard setback where 4 feet is required and a 2-foot rear-yard setback where 10 feet is required for a site located at 885 Lakechime Drive

 

Staff Recommendation: Council denies the appeal and upholds the decision of the Planning Commission to deny the Variance.

Application for related proposals on a 16,301 square-foot site located at 563 Alberta Avenue including a rezone from R-2 to R-2/PD and a Special Development Permit to allow the construction of four new single-family homes

 

Staff Recommendation: Council adopts the Negative Declaration and introduces an Ordinance to rezone 563 Alberta Avenue from R-2 to R-2/PD and approves the Special Development Permit with conditions.

  • Speakers are requested to give their name (address is optional).
  • Speakers are to turn in a Speaker Card to the City Clerk.
  • Anyone interested in addressing the Council (may only speak one time).
  • Closing remarks by the applicant (if applicable) are limited to ten minutes.
  • Time limit of 3 minutes per person (may be extended at discretion of Mayor).  Please make comments brief and be prepared to provide new input.

Public Comments

  • Any item relevant to the City of Sunnyvale.
  • Speakers are requested to give their name (address is optional).
  • Speakers are to turn in a Speaker Card to the City Clerk.
