The Sunnyvale Onizuka Local Redevelopment Authority met in the City Council Chambers, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California at 9:42 p.m. with Authority Chair Ron Swegles presiding.

Approval of Revised Draft Minutes of Regular Meeting of April 11, 2006

Authority approved as recommended.

LRA 06-003

Convene the Onizuka Air Force Station Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) to: Approve the Onizuka LRA reuse planning process (Attachment A); and Alternative 2:  Authority approves the draft advertisement requesting notices of interest with a 180-day noticing period (Attachment B).

Coryn Campbell, Neighborhood Community Services Manager, presented the staff

Authority Member Hamilton confirmed with Manager Campbell that the Department of Defense has approved the disbursement of two acres of the Onizuka Air Force Station (AFS) to the Veteran’s Administration.  Manager Campbell stated that this disbursement will be published into the federal register within the next week.

Authority Chair Swegles opened the Public Hearing at 9:48 p.m.  No one wished to speak and Authority Chair Swegles closed the Public Hearing at 9:49 p.m.

Authority Member Howe moved and Authority Member Spitaleri seconded to approve a combined motion including the Consent Calendar and Alternative No. 1:  Approve the Onizuka LRA reuse planning process (Attachment A) and Alternative No. 2:  Approve the draft advertisement requesting notices of interest with a 180-day noticing period (Attachment B).

The combined motion carried 6-0 (Authority Member Chu absent).

Authority Chair Swegles opened Public Comments at 9:49 p.m.  No one wished to speak and Authority Chair Swegles closed Public Comments at 9:50 p.m.

Authority Chair Swegles adjourned the Onizuka Local Redevelopment Authority at 9:50 p.m. and reconvened the Council Meeting for public or staff comments.  No one wished to speak and Mayor Swegles re-adjourned the Council meeting at 9:50 p.m.
