The Onizuka Local Redevelopment Authority met in study session at City Hall in the West Conference Room at 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California on May 15, 2006 at 6:00 p.m., with Chair Ron Swegles presiding.

Study Session Summary:
- Debriefing of BRAC Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia on May 2-5, 2006
Conference attendees Chair Ron Swegles, Vice Chair John Howe, and City Staff Member Coryn Campbell shared highlights of the BRAC Conference. Direction was given to proceed with setting up a meeting at Onizuka AFS with City Council, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, the Director of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and the Onizuka Base Commander. A tour of the AFS was also requested for Authority Members Lee and Spitaleri.
- Review Role of the Onizuka Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) and Bylaws
Staff reviewed the LRA bylaws, the role of the LRA, and its ability to discharge some its duties to the LRA Executive Committee, including routine administrative duties (such as approving Requests for Proposals), and appointing task forces (such as the Community Advisory Committee).
- Review of Local Reuse Planning Process, Next Steps, and Tracking Tools
Staff reviewed the Overview Project Plan for managing the Onizuka AFS Base
Realignment and Closure Process (distributed at meeting).
