Mayor Lee called the Joint Study Session to order at 5:40 PM

Community Development Director, Robert Paternoster, made a presentation covering the following items:
ü New Structure of the General Plan
ü Community Condition Indicators
ü Values and Vision (Adopted March 6, 2007)
ü Citywide Goals
ü Balanced Growth Profile
Questions & Comments from City Council:
City Council questions and comments included: degree to which City can actually constrain growth; projections by age, especially elderly; how to account for regional transportation capacity improvements; and how to reflect transit requirements.
Questions & Comments from Planning Commission:
Planning Commission questions and comments included: when and how policies will be revised; how retail growth projections are prepared; and how much is due to Downtown; how to make the document more useable for day-to-day decisions.
