Notice of Intent to Apply for, Accept, and Appropriate a Grant from the Department of Homeland Security for Training and Exercises and Budget Modification No. 24

 

 

Staff Recommendation: Council authorizes staff to apply for the Homeland Security Grant for training and exercises, and if awarded authorizes staff to accept and appropriate monies to a special project for SUASI training and exercises.

Acceptance and Appropriation of the Department of Justice Bullet Proof Vests Partnership Monies in the Amount of $20,428 and Budget Modification No. 23

 

 

Staff Recommendation: Council authorizes the Department of Public Safety to accept the Bullet Proof Vests Funds in the amount of $20,428, and approve Budget Modification No. 23.

RTC 07-401 

Approval for Carbon Dioxide Emissions Reduction Budget Modification No. 22

 

Staff Recommendation: Council approves Budget Modification No. 22 for Project Number 826420 to add $12,895 for Sustainable Silicon Valley and California Climate Action Registry membership and the cost for a consultant to prepare detailed budget documents for 18 projects to reduce CO2 emissions from City operations for consideration in the upcoming budget study issues process.

Revision of Hollenbeck School Open Space Master Plan to Accommodate Revised Challenger School Student Drop-off Driveway

 

 

Staff Recommendation: Council approves the revised Master Plan for Hollenbeck Park open space to include the proposed driveway, per Attachment B.

RTC 07-392

 

Determine Whether to Continue Agreement with Santa Clara County for Operation of Sunnyvale Baylands Park past 2011 (Study Issue – Phase 1)

 

Staff Recommendation:

·      Council directs staff to negotiate a long-term extension to the written agreement with Santa Clara County dated April 15, 1986, for the maintenance and operation of Sunnyvale Baylands Park at current service and funding levels;

·      Council directs staff to seek a preferred length of term of an extension (20, 25, 30, or other number of years) to the maintenance and operation agreement with Santa Clara County dated April 15, 1986, for Sunnyvale Baylands Park; and

·      Council directs staff to prepare capital project papers to meet the potential infrastructure needs of Baylands Park for their review along with all other capital and infrastructure considerations in FY 2008/2009.

Award of Taxicab Franchise to All Bay Taxi Cab

 

Staff Recommendation: Council introduces and adopts an ordinance awarding a non-exclusive franchise for taxi service to All Bay Taxi Cab for the period of January 11, 2008 through January 10, 2010, per applicant request, and authorizes the City Manager to execute necessary documents of agreement.

§         Public events that are of community–wide interest that occur on annual basis.

§         Opening remarks by the applicant (if applicable) are limited to 10 minutes.

§         Speakers are requested to give their name (address is optional).

§         Speakers are to turn in a speaker card to the city clerk.

§         Anyone interested in addressing the Council (may only speak one time).

§         Closing remarks by the applicant (if applicable) are limited to ten minutes.

§         Time limit of three minutes per person (may be extended at discretion of mayor).  Please make comments brief and be prepared to provide new input.
