Options for Dealing with Extraordinary Public Safety Responses to Large Gathering Places and Entertainment Venues (Study Issue)

 

 

Staff Recommendation: Council directs the Department of Public Safety to work with the Community Development Department and the Office of the City Attorney to amend the City’s Municipal Code and Use Permit Process to address DPS needs; including advanced notification, conditions of operation, consequences of violation (fines and/or penalties) and a cost recovery mechanism.

Explore Possible Use of Solar Power at Various City Facilities

 

Staff Recommendation: Council takes no action now and considers a pilot project to install solar power systems on City Facilities after the more comprehensive report on the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emissions Reduction Project is presented to Council later this year.

§         Speakers are requested to give their name (address is optional).

§         Speakers are to turn in a speaker card to the city clerk.

§         Anyone interested in addressing the Council (may only speak one time).

§         Closing remarks by the applicant (if applicable) are limited to ten minutes.

§         Time limit of three minutes per person (may be extended at discretion of mayor).  Please make comments brief and be prepared to provide new input.
