The City Council met in study session at City Hall in the West Conference Room, Sunnyvale, California on October 23, 2007 at 5 p.m., with Vice Mayor Spitaleri presiding.

Study Session Summary:
· NASA Research Park Project Presentation
Michael Marlaire, Director of Partnerships, NASA Ames, presented an update to Council on the status of NASA Research Park.
· Bill and Issue Tracking
Staff reported on the status of the bills and issues which were advocated for/against since the beginning of the current fiscal.
· 2008 IGR Assignments
Council reviewed their current 2007 IGR assignments and provided direction to staff on their desire to dis/continue those assignments into 2008.
Staff also informed Council of an invitation by Santa Clara County to participate in their Comprehensive County Expressway Planning Study Policy Advisory Board.
· 2008 NLC Resolutions
Staff updated Council on the status of the 2008 NLC Resolutions
· National League of Cities Conference Itinerary
Staff distributed itineraries to Councilmembers for the November conference.
· 2007 IGR Committee Assignment Reports
Councilmembers reported on their IGR Assignments.
· 2008 NLC March Conference Update
Staff informed Council that per their direction last year, IGR has begun requesting meetings in Washington, DC in preparation for the NLC Congressional Cities Conference.
