PUBLIC COMMENTS
Pat Vorreiter stated she has concerns over the recent Parks and Recreation visioning questionnaire that is currently being circulated throughout the City. Vorreiter stated she disagrees with the two questions being asked on the questionnaire, one of which states as a fact that golf is declining in the country. Vorreiter stated her other concern is the questionnaire’s suggestion that the primary value of the Sunken Gardens nine hole golf course is the driving range, which is not accurate. Vorreiter stated a nine hole golf course reaches a different audience of players.
Councilmember Swegles stated he is aware of these concerns and agreed with Vorreiter that the questions could have been rephrased.
Tap Merrick spoke in favor of the Pony Baseball program and recommended the Parks and Recreation Department recognize Art Downs for his service with this program.
Craig Horne, member of Cool Cities Team, stated on behalf of the team, he would like to offer their appreciation to Councilmember Lee for his leadership toward the goal of reaching a sustainable future during his one year term.
