General Plan Implementation Plan

Implementation plans are long-range programs and requirements that implement the City's General Plan. Implmenetation plans include City regulations such as ordinances, specific plans, and subdivision requirements, capital projects, Building and Housing codes, transportation system managementfunding mechanisms, including preferential property tax assessments, bonds, mitigation fees, and other methods.

These implementation plans are divided into City-wide programs and chapter-specific programs.

CITYWIDE Implementation Programs

  • Annual Budget - appropriating funds to achieve policy objectives and service delivery.
  • City Operating Procedures - including staff training, provision of appropriate work areas and equipment for job duties, timely review and monitoring of data measuring job efficiency and effectiveness, and provision of City services
  • Capital Improvement Programs
  • Grant Funding - apply for grants as appropriate and work with other agencies or public/private partnerships to receive and implement grant monies.
  • Public Education and Outreach - appropriate and effective notification, provide written materials or presentations to the community on topics of interest, keep all printed and web materials updated, provide helpful and efficient customer service, provide opportunities for community involvement where appropriate
  • Public/Private Partnerships
  • Intergovernmental Coordination and/or Advocacy - agreements or policy coordination to effectively address issues affecting the City, advocacy and/or partnerships with local, regional, state or federal agencies on affected issues.
