The One-Stop Permit Center provides a single location for customers to obtain necessary information about permitting, developing properties, and operating businesses in Sunnyvale. The single location and streamlined process allows for 90% of all permits to be issued at the One-Stop Permit Center within one day. Following are typical plan review requirements:

Residential Projects

Building permits for residential repairs/remodels (no new square footage) and single story additions can typically be issued over the counter between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Plans for new residential construction and second story additions can be submitted for a 21 day plan review (14 days for re-submittals).

Commercial/Industrial Projects

Commercial/industrial tenant improvement and remodel projects can typically be reviewed and issued over the counter between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Additions and new construction can be submitted for a 21 day review (14 days for re-submittals).
