TOWN CENTER REDEVELOPMENT
Progress continues on the Sunnyvale Town Center project. The following provide you a breakdown of current phases:
· Poles for a temporary traffic signal at Washington and Mathilda will be installed Monday night, April 28. Work will begin at 10 p.m. and require closure of the curb lane of westbound Washington, between Aries and Mathilda. The lane will be reopened by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
· Work on architectural walls, top level columns and elevator penthouses for the westside parking garages continues on both parking structures. Stairways, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are being installed in the interior of both garages.
· Concrete slabs for new residential units above the retail stores along Washington, Taaffe and McKinley are being poured.
· Utility work and widening of the south side of Washington Avenue, east of Mathilda, continues.
· Street-level concrete slabs over parking for the two office buildings on the west side of the project are being poured.
· Foundation excavation for retail buildings on the south side of Macy's, near Redwood Square, continues.
· The project fence on the east side of the project has been moved eastward to accommodate work on retail buildings south of Macy's.
