Sunnyvale’s redevelopment plan was adopted in 1975 and continues through 2015. It is an area of 184 acres that incorporates the downtown, including Town Center and Town & Country with these approximate boundaries: Caltrain Railroad to the North, El Camino Real to the South, Between Charles and Carroll.
The plan was created to:
- Help revitalize the downtown and facilitate the development of the Town Center.
- Stimulate private investment and attract new business.
- Improve public infrastructure.
- Encourage rehabilitation and residential construction.
