Santa Clara County Opens Cold Weather Shelter Monday, November 20th
Santa Clara County's two cold weather shelters opened Monday, adding 250 beds for the county's homeless. Open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the end of March.

In Sunnyvale:  National Guard Armory, 620 E. Maude Avenue
In Gilroy:  National Guard Armory, 8940 Wren Avenue

  • 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan Update
    The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) jurisdictions within Santa Clara County are collaborating to seek input for their Consolidated Plans for 2010-2015 to identify local and/or regional needs for community programs such as affordable housing, emergency shelter, public services, economic development, and neighborhood improvements.


    The public is invited to attend any regular Housing and Human Services Commission meeting through April 2010, to provide input during the public comments portion of the meeting. Public comments may also be provided at any time to the Housing Division.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAMS
The City of Sunnyvale offers a variety of affordable housing solutions to low and moderate income households. Click here for more information about our Below Market Rate programs and other housing programs available.

ENERGY PARTNERS PROGRAM
The Energy Works Program provides qualified low-income tenants free weatherization measures and energy-efficient appliances to reduce gas & electricity usage.

HOUSING AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION
The Housing and Human Services Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the West Conference Room at Sunnyvale City Hall, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale. Agendas are posted online on the Friday prior to the meeting.

HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAMS
Our Housing Rehabilitation Program offers various home improvement loans and grants for low-income Sunnyvale residents. The loans or grants allow eligible homeowners or tenants to make accessibility (ADA) improvements, paint the exterior of their homes, improve energy efficiency, or make general repairs, deferred maintenance, and/or emergency repairs.

RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPER INFORMATION

VACANCY AND RENT SURVEY
Annually, the City of Sunnyvale contracts with RealFacts to conduct a vacancy and rent survey. The survey is used to determine the annual vacancy rate and establish BMR rental rates.
