The City of Sunnyvale has many resources regarding landscaping.
LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS
- Landscaping Requirements (pdf)- this handout explains general landscaping requirements, including total required area, useable open space, parking lot landscaping, etc.
- Stormwater Management – the City has requirements to manage water flows and improve the quality of stormwater runoff. These regulations affect landscaping design.
- Parking Lot Shading Requirements (pdf)- this handout explains in more detail how to design a parking lot landscaping plan to meet the City's requirement for parking lot shading.
- Tree Removal Permits - are required for removal of any tree greater than 38 inches in circumference or for multi-trunk trees greater than 112 inches in circumference.
