The Land Use and Transportation Element (LUTE) is one of 22 elements and sub-elements that make up the Sunnyvale General Plan. The LUTE is an important document that establishes the goals and policies for the physical development and appearance of the city as well as for the transportation system. Everything you see built around you is affected by the LUTE - from the roadway and sidewalk up to the highest building in Sunnyvale.
Horizon 2035 Advisory Committee and Public Outreach
Public meetings were held in November 2009 to gather input and feedback from individuals, neighborhoods, businesses and other interested individuals and groups about the concerns and expectations with land use and transportation in Sunnyvale and to gather ideas for goals and policies to direct the future development of the City.

Horizon 2035 Advisory Committee
Recruitment efforts for the Horizon 2035 Advisory Committee were launched in April and resulted in over 40 applicants. A City Council sub-committee selected 15 committee members and two alternates to represent a broad cross-section of the Sunnyvale community.
This committee was formed to act in an advisory capacity on the Land Use and Transportation Element (LUTE) and Climate Action Plan (CAP). Find out more about Sunnyvale’s LUTE and Climate Action Plan project at the upcoing community outreach meeting (see below).
