HUD Programs

General Information

This Division administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Federal funds allocated to the City by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These funds are used to fund affordable housing projects, community development programs, and public services to benefit primarily low- and moderate-income residents. New CDBG and HOME funding opportunities are typically published in January each year. For more information about funding opportunities for eligible agencies, please call (408) 730-7451.

HUD Plans and Reports

The 30-day public review and comment period for the FY 2017-18 Annual Action Plan, began on April 7, 2017 and will end on May 9, 2017. Copies of the Draft Action Plan are also available at the Sunnyvale City Hall, One-Stop Center, Community Development Department, 456 West Olive Avenue, and at the Sunnyvale Public Library, 665 W. Olive Avenue. To request a copy of the Plan, or for more information, please call (408) 730-7254. Interested parties are encouraged to submit written comments on the proposed Action Plan during the review period, or to comment at the public hearings described below. Written comments should be sent to the City of Sunnyvale, Housing Division, Attn: Katrina Ardina, P.O. Box 3707, Sunnyvale, CA 94088-3707.

Public Hearings will be held as follows:

  1. During the Housing and Human Services Commission regular meeting on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the West Conference Room, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California. 
  2. During the City Council regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Sunnyvale City Hall, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California.
