Some of the best Mexican music you’ll ever taste is homemade. Herencia Musical is the real deal, local amigos with a recipe for delicious, authentic music that is usually served up in somebody’s backyard. True musicians’ musicians, John Lopez, Filiberto Sanchez, Margarito “Mago” Jimenez and son Patrick Jimenez have been playing and singing all their lives, and harmonizing together for five years. Their repertoire is endless: Latin music, polkas, rancheras, romantic ballads and lively Veracruz music performed on guitar, jarana and other traditional instruments. Members of the group have appeared individually in Bay Area salsa, rock and mariachi bands, even at the prestigious San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival.
