Just as a blanket of snow can mask a landscape, folksy front-porch friendliness belies fiddler-singer-songwriter Laurie Lewis’ status as a bluegrass revolutionary. The Berkeley-based virtuosa is a two-time International Bluegrass Music Association’s female vocalist of the year and Grammy Award winner. Her performing partner of 25 years is Tom Rozum, an ace mandolinist who’s also accomplished fiddler, mandola and guitar player. Their Yule time show features songs that are both seasonal and subtle, including Tex Logan’s “Christmas Time’s A-Coming,” “Hot Buttered Rum,” and the traditional “Cold Frosty Morning.” This show is the perfect respite for everyone thinking to themselves, “If We Make It Through December…”
