Glamour girl Lavay Smith’s lush voice recalls past greats like Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington and Little Esther Phillips, as she performs a large repertoire of classics and her own originals, too. Her all-star band, together since 1989, is one of the best in the business. Members have performed and recorded with Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat “King” Cole, Sarah Vaughan, Quincy Jones, Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra and more.
