Picnic and Park Building Rentals

Park Use Community Meeting on Nov. 20, 6-7:30 p.m.
Neighborhood Room, Recreation Building of Community Center

Sunnyvale's park buildings and picnic areas are great places to host gatherings of family and friends. Many our our park building are regularly used by scout troops, arts organizations, service clubs and faith-based communities for meetings and events, and by private individuals for family reunions and children's birthday parties.

During prime picnic season, April-October, reservations are required for our largest and busiest picnic sites. Only Sunnyvale residents and Sunnyvale companies may make picnic reservations. Smaller picnic areas are available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. During the off-season, November-March, all picnic areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Picnic site capacities are estimated at 10 people per picnic table. Inflatable jump houses are permitted in Sunnyvale Parks, provided the renter secures a jump house permit ($25) in advance and arranges to have the jump house provided by an approved vendor.

Baylands Park, located in north Sunnyvale along the Bay Trail, can accommodate special events as large as 2,000 people. Plaza de Sol, located downtown across from the Cal Train station, is suitable for festivals, fairs and outdoor performances.

For information on rentable buildings and picnic sites at specific parks, see the table below.

For more information or to make a reservation, call (408) 730-7751, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., or stop by the Community Center during those days and times.
