Preparations Underway for Re-opening of Golf Course Restaurants
An agreement has been reached with Synergy Golf Management, Inc. to provide food, beverage, and event services for Sunnyvale’s two golf courses. Synergy Golf is based in San Jose, and currently operates The Ranch and Coyote Creek golf courses. The final step in the negotiation process was completed on March 5, when City Council voted to approve a 15 year license agreement. The golf course restaurants were closed on August 1 of last year, when the previous contractor ceased operations.
Synergy is currently working a $100,000+ capital improvement plan to update the facilities and install new equipment. Food service will initially be provided at the Sunnyvale G.C. snack bar (“The Shack”) beginning on March 16, with the restaurant at Sunken Gardens opening on April 9. The Sunnyvale G.C. restaurant will be receiving the majority of the upgrades, and is expected to resume operation the first week of May. The service of alcoholic beverages is expected to begin during the month of July. Extended Promotions
- Kids Play Free
Junior golfers, aged 16 and under, will be allowed to play free of charge when accompanied by a paying or monthly card carrying adult (one no charge junior per adult only). This promotion will be allowed at both courses, 7 days per week, with no time restrictions. This discount program only applies to green fees. Standard fees will be charged for other items such as cart rentals, club rentals, range balls, etc…

The City of Sunnyvale offers 27 challenging holes to the golfing public, on two courses.
 Sunnyvale Golf Course
Sunnyvale Golf Course is a par 70 regulation 18-hole course with numerous bunkers, dog legs and water holes. Sunnyvale is a well-manicured test of the player's skill stretching out to 6,255 yards.

 Sunken Gardens Golf Course
Sunken Gardens Golf Course is a 9-hole, 1,502 yard executive course. Sunken Gardens is ideal for the beginner golfer with ample practice facilities and shorter length holes.
Sunken Gardens Driving Range
The driving range is open 364 days a year from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
(except Wednesday’s closings are at 7 p.m. and Thursday’s openings are at 9:30 a.m.). 18 range stalls are available to the public for practice, warm-up before play, or for exercise/therapy. Golf clubs, if needed, are available at no extra charge. Please note that the range is well lit for evening practice.

Reservations
Weekdays: Sunnyvale residents may place reservations for weekday play beginning seven days in advance in person when the pro shop opens for the day until 6:30 a.m. All golfers may place phone reservations after 6:30 a.m. seven days in advance.
Weekends and Holidays: Sunnyvale residents may place reservations for weekend/holiday play beginning Monday prior to the weekend/ holiday in person from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. All golfers may place phone reservations beginning 6:30 a.m. on that same Monday.
Monthly Discount Cards
Monthly Discount Cards offer unlimited play Monday through Thursday for each calendar month (excluding holidays) for a reduced one time fee. Sunnyvale Advantage Card for any Sunnyvale resident (residency verification required) are available from ages 17 to 59. Golf Discount Card is available for any golfer (Sunnyvale resident or not) 16 years and under, 60 years and over, or disabled.
